MOSAIC CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
SOCITAL STATEMENTS
Standing for TRUTH
Mosaic Christian College is committed to upholding biblical principles in all areas of life, and we affirm that the Bible is the ultimate authority for truth and moral guidance. Our societal stance on key issues reflects the teachings of Scripture and seeks to honor God’s design for human life, relationships, and society. These positions serve as a guide for our community of students, faculty, and staff, and are rooted in our commitment to biblical truth.
1. MARRIAGE AND HUMAN SEXUALITY
We affirm that marriage is a covenant relationship designed by God to be between one man and one woman, as outlined in Scripture. Sexual intimacy is reserved for this marriage relationship, and all sexual behavior outside of this union is contrary to God’s will.
-
Biblical Basis: “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Mark 10:6-8, NLT).
-
We uphold the dignity and worth of every individual, including those who may struggle with their sexual identity, and affirm that true freedom and healing come through faith in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
2. THE SANCTITY OF LIFE
We believe that all human life is sacred, created in the image of God from conception to natural death. This includes the unborn, the elderly, the physically and mentally challenged, and those at the end of life. As a result, we oppose abortion, euthanasia, and any other acts that devalue human life.
-
Biblical Basis: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13, NLT).
-
We are called to protect and care for all human life as a reflection of God’s love and value for every person (Genesis 1:27).
3. POLITICS AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
While Mosaic Christian College does not endorse any political party, we believe that Christians have a responsibility to engage in society and politics in ways that reflect biblical values, promote justice, and uphold moral principles. We encourage students to be informed, prayerful, and active citizens who participate in government while remembering that their ultimate allegiance is to Christ and His Kingdom.
-
Biblical Basis: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established” (Romans 13:1, NLT).
-
While engaged in civic matters, Christians are called to prioritize the Gospel and live out their faith with integrity and humility (Matthew 5:16).
4. THE ROLE OF THE CHURCH IN SOCIETY
We affirm that the primary role of the Church is to glorify God, make disciples, and be a light in a dark world by demonstrating the love and truth of Jesus Christ. The Church is called to serve the poor, seek justice, and promote peace while proclaiming the Gospel of salvation to all people.
-
Biblical Basis: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden... let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16, NLT).
-
The Church is responsible for living out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and reflecting Christ’s love through practical acts of service (James 1:27).
5. MORAL PURITY
Mosaic Christian College holds that all individuals are called to live lives of moral purity, reflecting the holiness of God in thought, word, and deed. This includes abstaining from sexual immorality, dishonesty, greed, and other forms of sinful behavior that are contrary to the character of Christ.
-
Biblical Basis: “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality” (1 Thessalonians 4:3, NLT).
-
We are called to “be holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16, NLT), pursuing purity in every area of life.
6. PORNOGRAPHY
We affirm that pornography is harmful to individuals, relationships, and society, distorting God’s design for sexuality and intimacy. Participation in or consumption of pornography is inconsistent with biblical teaching and the call to moral purity. We believe that healing and freedom from pornography can be found through Christ.
-
Biblical Basis: “But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people” (Ephesians 5:3, NLT).
-
We call individuals to “flee from sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18, NLT) and seek accountability and restoration through the body of Christ.
7. THE SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
We affirm that the family, founded on biblical marriage, is a foundational institution created by God for the benefit of individuals and society. Parents are given the responsibility to raise their children in the instruction of the Lord, and families are called to reflect Christ’s love.
-
Biblical Basis: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right… Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:1-4, NLT).
-
The family is intended to model Christ’s relationship with the Church (Ephesians 5:25-33).
8. THE VALUE OF WORK AND STEWARDSHIP
We believe that work is a God-given responsibility and a means by which we glorify Him. We are called to be good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us, including our time, talents, and finances. Honest work reflects the character of God, who worked in creation and continues to work in the world.
-
Biblical Basis: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23, NLT).
-
Stewardship is part of our calling to care for God’s creation and use our resources wisely (Genesis 2:15).
9. ACCOUNTABILITY AND DISCIPLINE IN CHRISTIAN LIVING
We believe that Christians are called to live in community, where accountability, correction, and discipline are essential for spiritual growth. When sin or moral failure occurs, the goal is always restoration through repentance and forgiveness, in keeping with biblical principles.
-
Biblical Basis: “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you… if they repent, forgive them” (Matthew 18:15-17, NLT).
-
The goal of discipline is restoration, leading individuals back to a right relationship with God (Galatians 6:1).
10. THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL MEDIA
We recognize that technology and social media are powerful tools that can be used for both positive and negative purposes. At Mosaic Christian College, we encourage the responsible and ethical use of technology and social media to glorify God, spread the Gospel, and build up others. While technology can enhance communication, learning, and ministry, we also warn against its potential misuse, including addiction, gossip, and harmful content. As Christians, we are called to use these platforms wisely, reflecting Christ in all our digital interactions.
-
Biblical Basis: "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31, NLT).
-
We are called to use our words and actions, including online, to build others up and reflect Christ: "Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them" (Ephesians 4:29, NLT).
-
Technology and social media should be used as tools for ministry, learning, and connection, but always with discernment and a commitment to purity and truth.
CONCLUSION
At Mosaic Christian College, we are committed to living and teaching according to the truths found in God’s Word. Our societal statements reflect this commitment and serve as a foundation for our educational and spiritual mission. We encourage students, faculty, and staff to uphold these principles as part of their walk with Christ and as a testimony to the world of God’s holiness, love, and justice
